An overview paper for EDUC 634- Achievement and Motivation, it touches on multiple aspects of different motivational theories, and select passages of significance from a variety of readings throughout the course. By choosing specific quotes surrounding the ideas of avoidance, mastery and utility, this writing synthesizes a large number of distinct theory types into one summarized work.
Perhaps tied as directly to my guiding question as any singular work throughout this portfolio, these theoretical concepts connect to real-world application in my own professional context as a Learning Support Teacher, and directly engaged me to join the world(s) of theoretical and practical education.
As a result, I believe that this work does an effective job of outlining the numerous types of motivational theory, and shows how they can effectively work in conjunction with each other.
